What Morgan Freeman Taught Me About Soloing

We all know that Morgan Freeman is a fantastic narrator.

Yes, he has a great sounding voice. But that’s not the whole story.

Plenty of people have good sounding voices. Scientists have even programmed a computer to synthesize Pavarotti’s voice – without the use of sampling.

Mr. Freeman has great tone AND great phrasing. He could read a phone book and make it sound interesting.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times: how you play is more important than what you play.

The reason I sound like such a broken record is because focusing on phrasing is the thing that no one wants to work on even though it has the potential to yield the greatest results.

But I’m not gonna beat a dead horse here. If you’re ready to make lasting change in your playing by working on your “how,” click the link below to enroll in my Phrasing Secrets course.
